Diversity is taking center stage.

The amount of all roles for Native American actors in film in was  .04%, as compared to 15.7% for Black actors, 5.0% for Asian actors, and 4.6% for Latin actors.

Native American Indians are getting left out of the conversations in Hollywood.... Andy is here to change that.

Andy Winstead was born at Duke Hospital in Durham, NC. He is of Native American Indian (Sioux) descent. In his youth, Andy set two major goals for his life, to fly fighter jets, and to be an actor. Andy graduated from Embery-Riddle Aeronautical University. He was a civilian flight instructor as a teenager, then a corporate jet pilot, then continued his aviation dreams by becoming the first Native American Indian to pilot the F-16 fighter jet.

After a 20 year carrier as a F-16 fighter pilot, and completing 102 combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, Andy set out to accomplish his second goal of becoming an actor. He was able to acquire SAG-AFTRA membership after appearing on NBC’s E.R.

After making several local television commercials, Andy landed several lead roles in several short films. From these short films Andy was recognized by representatives at Disney, and this lead to agent representation by The People Store in Atlanta GA.

Andy incorporated his own production company, Native Warrior Productions, Inc., in order to create opportunities for himself and others. Native Warrior Productions, Inc. is a minority owned/veteran owned production company created with the intention of investing in himself as a Native actor, writer, and producer.

Andy is a council member on the Screen Actors Guild’s (SAG) diversity committee for the South East in Atlanta.

Andy is currently pursuing all available acting opportunities in film and television, as well as writing, producing, and directing.
